That’s right folks, a 72. That’s an average of 4 strokes per hole. Or a couple of lucky 2s, several 7s, and a hole-in-one to end on a good note. Did I mention the par on almost ever hole was 2?
Let me share a secret with you- I have no patience. Thus why golf will never be my sport. But whilst on vacation last week, my parents somehow goaded me into that dratted activity, and I have to say, it wasn’t QUITE as bad as I was anticipating.
Clearly, my dad is the Phil Mickelson of the mini-green
This is Scott. He’s a US Marine who just returned from Afghanistan. And I mean just– his homecoming was Sunday, and we went mini-golfing on Thursday. He’s my big brother’s good friend from language school. Everyone say “Welcome home, Scott!”
The image on the right is not my fault. Seth just climbed up onto a rock and was like “Hey Abby, take my picture.”
As you can see from the image below, I’ve inherited my prodigious golfing skills from my mother, who is just as good as I am when it comes to minigolf. She was kind enough to score lower (higher?) than me so I didn’t come in last place.
Matt kept score! And he did a pretty sweet job of playing some mean golf.
Happy Friday! To all my East Coasters out there- stay safe from Irene, earthquakes, monsoons, wildfires, and Dementor attacks this weekend!

I hate playing most sports too, but mini golf is the exception to the rule. For some reason I’m ok with playing a game I completely suck at just for the fun of it:-) I think I laughed out loud when I got to the photo of Seth.
Youuuuu, my friend are SO adorable! Im a pretty lame mini-golfer myself…except that *one* time I randomly hit a hole in one and somehow NO ONE SAW IT! What’s up with that?!
TOTALLY love this post (your dad reminds me of how my dad would be on a MINIATURE golf course, lol) — and a thousand Welcome Home’s <– does that even make sense? to Scott! +10 points for being a Marine. (My grandpa says that they're the toughest, lol…'course…he's a Marine too.) 😉
Oh man… I hate mini golf… it’s a patience issue :-p
lol LOVE this post ~ i, too, am not really all that good at mini-golf, so I feel your pain. I am consistently inconsistent ad it drives me bonkers!
