Last night while I was making dinner it dawned on me that it was a Sunday night and I couldn’t be happier about it. I stopped working Friday evening and already knew I was going to have a full week ahead of me, but instead of being depressed at the thought, I was EXCITED. I had to keep myself out of my office over the weekend to keep from getting things done. I used to scratch my head at people who like working, but I totally get it now! Don’t get me wrong- sometimes the last thing I want to do is sit down at my computer and start editing. But the overwhelming feeling I have about my job is one of GRATITUDE and JOY. It makes Monday mornings something to look forward to!

As always, lessons learned/things that happened over the weekend:

  • Be sure to look up a recipe for pizza before you start making it. I used the entire lump of dough I bought from Wegmans and the pizza crust ended up being at least an inch thick. I don’t think pizza is SUPPOSED to be that tall…
  • As Matt and I were laying in bed at 11:45 on Saturday night, I suddenly realized it was the three year anniversary of when we became “official.” Which ends up being ok, because it was around 11:45 at night that we made things official. In case I hadn’t mentioned before, this all transpired (three years ago) at the midnight release of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
  • I may also mention that I seriously considered sending a wedding invitation to JK Rowling. But I didn’t want her to upstage me at my own wedding, so I held off. TRUE STORY.
  • I set out this morning to run 5 miles, but by a  happy accident my GPS watch ran out of battery and I ended up going 6 on accident. Always a nice surprise!
  • This morning I learned that I only sort of like running. I like stopping running MUCH more though, and that’s what makes the previous however many miles worth it.
  • Did that previous sentence make ANY sense?

Look at this sweet new to-do list pad I found at Paper Source! I’ve been keeping my daily lists on little Post-Its, but I keep losing them which = majorly stressful. These are just plain awesome, and the design changes every day. I clearly have more than two things to do every day, so I just add stuff all over the page.

Happy Monday!

Monday Mash-Up

July 16, 2012

  1. i use post-its and stick them around my computer screen 🙂 but that little pad is SO CUTE!!

  2. ali w says:

“deep dish” right? haha… homemade pizza is always an adventure for me.

  3. Serena says:

1 – Aww, congrats to you and Matt! We’re about to hit our 3-year wedding anniversary on Thursday. Crazy how time flies, right?!

2 – Kudos to you on the running thing. I used to run a lot (Track & Field), but I haven’t in such a long time. I remember it taking a while to build up endurance + actually enjoy it. I think it’s time for me to dig out those running shoes…

3 – I was having the same issue with post-it notes. I think they magically disappear. I started using a wall-mounted white-erase board to keep track of things. It’s been super helpful.

  4. Dad says:

Well I ran 12 this morning, before I went to work, and then I stopped and it was….wait for it….wait for it……MAGICAL!!!!

  5. […] my progress. I found a really fun pad of “to-do” lists at PaperSource and every morning (well, most mornings) I write down […]
