Their love began with a somewhat-of-a-joke proposal for a first date in the library at JMU. As she laughed and said, John remembers thinking Hannah was way too beautiful to be interested in him. Destiny has a way of giving us way more than we ever think we deserve, though, and three and a half years later John and Hannah found themselves atop a mountain at sunrise. As John knelt to the ground and uttered those words that every woman in love wants to hear, fireworks erupted in the distance. A little over a year later, John and Hannah sat calmly in separate rooms of the church, preparing for the biggest day of their lives. Neither nervous, neither showing a hint of anxiety. Both simply ready, excited and overjoyed at the blessing of marrying the one that was made for them.

John and Hannah, your wedding day was such a joy to witness. Seeing how each of your families adored you all, both individually and together, was such a testament that you absolutely belong together. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for the honor of documenting your memories! I hope the Dominican Republic treated you well 🙂

The day began at the Shady Grove United Methodist Church

The lighting in this church was divine. So warm and lovely! I was about to squeeze Hannah- we had almost an entire hours for just bride and groom portraits. Heaven!
