When I began searching for fun additions to my office, one thing I KNEW I needed was some sort of organization system for my packaging/craft supplies. My solution up until that point had been various cardboard boxes stacked on top of each other with an assortment of creative tools inside. Since my new office has a closet, I was really excited to start utilizing space in the most efficient way possible. After wandering through countless aisles at Target and Bed Bath & Beyond, I finally made my way to the Container Store where I was able to custom build THIS bad boy!

I was able to choose the color, the exact number and depth of shelves, the kind of material the shelves were made out of, and even the kind of finished top I wanted. I chose the butcher’s block top so that I could use it as a work station for all my various projects.

Each drawer has it’s own purpose- the top shelf is for stamps, embossing powder, my heat gun and all the small things I use to finish off my packages before sending them to clients.

The next one down is my adhesives drawer! Yep, I have an entire drawer devoted to all things sticky. Tape, double-stick tape, painter’s tape, packing tape, glue sticks, hot glue, etc. etc.

I use my two large bottom drawers to hold my flash drives- the 16 gig drives go in the second-to-last drawer, and the 4-gig drives go in the bottom drawer. I maximize the space by also storing envelopes, cards and postage for my client stationery.

This is probably my favorite part- the ribbon holder!! Prior to purchasing this drawer set, my ribbon holder consisted of a ghetto, beat-up hanger that I’d strong my spools onto. So when the guy at the Container Store showed me this, I nearly flipped my lid. Cutting ribbon is so much easier now! I don’t even have to take it off the holder!
