I wonder what it’s like to have a peaceful January? Three years ago Matt & I got engaged, two years ago (almost) we got married, and last January we MOVED on our first anniversary. So in true chaotic fashion, we started a new lease yesterday at our new town house! We spent the morning at Lowes picking up paint and supplies, and then the rest of the day was spent in various states of unrest- painting, chasing Lily around, Chinese takeout for dinner, then more painting. My mom brought over a bottle of bubbly to celebrate the new digs, so we did take a little bit of a break (thanks, Mom!)

We got the living room pretty much done (!) yesterday, all we need to to do is go back and touch up a few spots. And today? Today we paint MY office :). I’m so excited to finally be able to paint- our first two apartments were only one-year leases and we were required to paint back over before we moved, so it just didn’t feel worth the trouble. We’ve signed a two-year contract on the new town house though, and we DON’T have to paint over anything before we leave. Win. Win win win. So please excuse the mess/disorganized posting over the next week or so as I attempt to shuttle between two living spaces, 30 minutes apart. For example, it’s now January 2nd and I still haven’t blogged my “2012 year in review” post. Whoops! It’s on the calendar for Friday though, so let’s see how we do :).

Oh, and then we rounded out the evening with a game of Disney Cranium with my brother’s family. So yes, it was a chaotic New Year’s Day, but in the very best kind of way.

 Happy Wednesday!

Pardon the mess
