It’s my last Monday Mash-Up from our little apartment!! This coming Saturday is moving day, and since we’ll be taking my entire office + the rest of our furniture over, I have approximately five days (including this one) left to work in our apartment. We started the onerous task of painting on New Year’s Day (and spent WAY too much money at Lowes), and everything’s starting to come together! The new couch arrived the day  after we painted the living room, I’ve almost finished painting my office, and Matt & I just can’t wait to get settled in.

Also, can I just brag on my husband for a moment? He came home on Friday night to find me stressed to. the. max. about my lack of organization/systems to help me keep track of things, and instead of rolling his eyes at me for being in hysterics over something as small as messy desk drawers, he did the following:

  1. Kindly forced me to shut my computer down. It was past my “office hours” anyways.
  2. Took me out to buy a new desk from World Market, since we’d been talking about giving my old one away.
  3. Then took me to Best Buy to look for software that would help me track expenses, invoices, etc.
  4. Finished out the evening by taking me for Mexican. And a strawberry margarita :).

He’s the best! And now, as usual, lessons learned/things that transpired over the past week:

  • Matt’s parents came on Saturday while I was out shooting a wedding to help Matt pack up our living room and kitchen. SO thankful for them! Now the only problem is that I keep forgetting the kitchen’s been packed up, so I open the drawers to look for a bowl/silverware/tea and everything’s gone. Whoops!
  • I have yet to begin the daunting assignment of packing up my office, and I’m starting to stress out about it. It looks like the Craft Fairy set off a bomb in my office closet.
  • Our anniversary is tomorrow! Matt went shopping for my gift on Saturday so when I got home from Mike & Anna’s wedding that night, he asked if we wanted to exchange gifts early because of how excited he was to give me mine. I opened up the package to find two adorable dresses that he picked out all by himself! He’s definitely made up for shrinking my favorite dress a few weeks ago :).
  • Note to self: the paint guy at Lowes is a liar. We were informed we’d need 3 gallons of paint to cover our living room. Turns out it only took one and a half. THANKS A LOT, Lowes guy, who sold us a gallon and a half extra of non-refundable paint.

And look! A sweet preview from Mike & Anna’s wedding on Saturday! These two are so, so lovely. Look out for their blog post on Thursday!
