Goooood morning, Vietnam! I have ALWAYS wanted to wake up in a town/location with three syllables so that I could use that famous Robin Williams quote, but using my current location instead. Because it just doesn’t have the same impact, nor would people get the reference, if I said “Goooooood morning, Reston!” See? It’s just not the same.

Alright so this past weekend was a total whirlwind. In my head, I’d psyched myself up for a relaxed couple of days, finishing up those few pesky boxes we’ve yet to unpack, then rounding out the evening sipping lemonade. Or something. Instead, it went something like this:

“SLFJE: GHJ:DSLKVNE>KRH:WEOIDWEOWE…. Monday morning.”

Ever had a weekend like that? They make you really appreciate the slow periods in life. Part of me thinks I could never retire because I love being active and busy, but then the other part of me knows how much I love me vacation. And to have a vacation that never ends? OH MAN. I can’t wait til I’m 65. (Just kidding).

Enough senseless rambling. As usual, things that transpired over the past week!

  • I told Matt on Friday evening that I’d like to have a golden Snitch carved into my headstone, whenever I die. He rolled his eyes and told me he didn’t want to talk about it, but Internet friends, consider this my formal request.
  • Chai tea is delicious. I used to think it tasted like dirty dishwater, but it turns out that’s only the stuff from Cosi. My sweet friend Blythe sent me an adorable gift of treats for Lily and loose chai tea for me, and I’ve got a new favorite morning ritual!
  • Also, when the chai tea packaging says “pour through strainer,” you should know that a cheese cloth is not a permissible substitute. You’re better off with the strainer, even if a few tea leaves make it through into your mug.
  • I’ve discovered first hand that when I get nervous, I talk way too much, way too fast, and reveal WAY more than is necessary. I’ve been told so by innocent bystanders (Matt) in the past, but I witnessed it for myself last week. I found words just kept spilling out of my mouth while my brain was asking my tongue “WHY ARE YOU STILL MOVING?!”
  • I’m going to United!!! ShowIt, the super awesome website platform I use (it comes complete with a fantastic community, btw), is hosting United, a conference for wedding and portrait photographers in Santa Barbara. And I’m GOING!! I’m so freakin excited!! More on that to come 🙂

We all know that posts are better with a photo. But how about a photo from a quirky French Revolution-era styled shoot? Yes? Ok, here you go!

More of this to come soon! We’re keeping it under wraps until we hopefully get it published :).

Happy Monday!
