I’m in California! And now I’m completely in love. It’s so sunny and so incredibly beautiful, so we can successfully add “shoot a wedding in Southern California” to my bucket list. Holy cow friends, I don’t know how I’m ever going to leave. This week is going to be SO amazing- I’m not usually the type of person to be overwhelmed by masses of people, but I am. And it’s in the best way possible!

Enough jibber jabber: per usual, lessons learned/things that transpired over the past week!

  • Matt took me by surprise on Friday night by suggesting a last-minute, late-night date to an Irish pub in the area- there was a jazz/blues artist performing (unlikely combination?) and he remembered me saying a while back that I’ve been wanting to go a jazz club. It turns out bluesish music is even better in a community pub setting- throw in a few Irish drinking songs and everyone sings along!
  • The performer also sang a song he wrote in Venezuela… it was called “It’s hard to be a gringo.” Touché, my friend. Touché.
  • Not enjoyable: spending two hours at the Verizon store on a Saturday night.
  • Enjoyable: walking out with a brand new iPhone5 without having to pay anything out of pocket for it. Turns out you can turn in old devices for credit- HOLLA!
  • Today’s the panel! I’m SO honored to be sitting alongside the gorgeous Meg Courtney and the crazy talented Christianne Taylor to chat about the beginnings of our businesses and how we got to where we are today. I’m just praying I don’t do my “I’m-nervous-so-I’ll-just-tell-everyone-my-life-story” thing.
  • And finally, after two years of having my name wrong on Facebook, IT CHANGED!!! When I first tried to change my name from “Field” to “Springmann” on Facebook after our honeymoon, I attempted too many times in one 24 hour period so it marked me as spam and locked me out. FOREVER. So last week I got fed up and sent an email to 4-5 different Facebook admin email addresses with a plea for my plight, and after shooting over a scanned copy of my passport, I woke up on Friday morning to find my name is now “Abby Grace Springmann” on Facebook! And I am RIDICULOUSLY thrilled about it.

Look! California morning light!
