I think I’ve always been a teacher at heart- when I was five and we still lived in Orlando, instead of playing “house,” I’d line all of my stuffed animals up at “desks”  (cardboard boxes) and give them homework assignments. I considered changing my major in college from PR to education, and every time I’ve had the opportunity to stand up in front of a group and share what I know, I feel alive. There’s something about sharing with people who are eager to learn that gets me buzzed!

I’d been kicking around the idea of a workshop for a few months, but it wasn’t until I sat down at my coaching session with Katelyn this past March that I really began to consider it as a possibility. The first thing Katelyn said to me was “So. Let’s talk about teaching. I think you should be doing it!” I think my jaw hit the floor because it was something I’d been wanting to pursue, but I never felt like I had permission to do it. After talking it through with Katelyn though, I realized that if I kept waiting for universal approval from everyone in the industry, I would NEVER have the chance to share what I’ve learned. So here I am, Internet, and here’s my workshop :).

A Date with Abby Grace is going to be awesome- it’s geared toward the photographer who’s still in the earlier stages of their career, who feels like there’s something missing on the business end. It’s for the photographer who’s spent days, weeks, months wondering how to market themselves as more than just a capturer of images, and it’s for the photographer who wants to be fulfilled in what they shooting and who they’re working with. We’re going to talk about the heart behind your business, the passions that drive you, the characteristics that set your business apart, ways to get your clients talking about you and more. The structure is definitely different than any workshop I’ve attended but I’m really excited about it! And with the extended Q&A, we’ll have plenty of time to address any other areas that you guys have questions about- shooting, editing, gear, etc.
