Alright, people. Let’s talk about Netflix. I’m convinced this thing is the best/worst thing that’s ever happened to me. Matt & I have never been the kind of people who sit around and watch TV, unless it’s a Nationals, Redskins, or Cowboys game. Or the first season of Once Upon A Time (because really, anything after that was rubbish). I could never get into watching shows at the rate of one episode per week- the suspense would irritate me too much. You’d never pick up a REALLY good book and read one chapter, then put the book down and come back a week later for another chapter, would you? Thus my feelings on network television.

But then along came Netflix, where you can watch entire seasons of shows you never cared about when they were in their prime. Matt & I made our way through all six seasons of LOST in just a few short weeks- sure, the last two seasons didn’t make a lick of sense, but at least I didn’t have to wait for SIX YEARS to find that out. Last night I discovered Glee on Netflix. I’m pretty sure I’m done for.

As always, lessons learned/things that transpired over the weekend!

  • I’ve liked Nutella as long as I’ve known of its existence, but for some reason I’d always just eat it by the spoonful. Last week I slathered it on a piece of wheat bread… and my life will never be the same. How have I never have Nutella toast? Nutella sanwiches? Nutella + bread = heaven.
  • Speaking of Nutella, I’m painfully aware of my addiction to sugar and have been attempting a “sugar fast.” It’s not going very well- I keep trying to reason away things like strawberry shortcake with logic like “I ran 15 miles yesterday, my body NEEDS this!”
  • Last Sunday marked our four year anniversary dating anniversary! …and Matt & I both forgot. So we celebrated on Saturday with a trip to the batting cages and Harry Potter & The Half-Blood Prince (because our relationship officially started at the premier to said movie).
  • Aaand speaking of batting cages, this was my first trip ever- it became exceedingly clear to me that NOT pursuing a career in softball was a wise move.

On Friday morning, I was lucky enough to shoot this adorable couple in Ocean City, Maryland- I cannot WAIT to share the rest of Billy & Jenny’s engagement session! Sunrise on the East coast is unbeatable.

Monday Mash-Up

  1. Urška Majer says:

Oh, i know how a “sugar diet” can be difficult! I’ve been on low sugar diet for the past few months(i decided to eat healthier). It was really difficult at first when everybody was eating something sweet but i ate a lot of fruit in the start and it helped. Also in a few weeks everything normally sweet will be too sweet for you so you don’t even want to taste it 😀

  2. Lisa says:

If your mind is blown over Nutella on toast by itself, prepare yourself:

Toasty (melty) Nutella and peanut butter sandwiches.

    You’re welcome.

  3. Jean says:

Nutella is great! We have a couple of shows that I like to watch on TV. It gives me something to look forward to. Love the picture.

  4. Rebekah Hoyt says:

Ooo gorgeous sneak peek! I can’t wait to see more! I LOVE Nutella! I first had it on a family trip to Switzerland when I was 8 years old and I thought it was a European thing. When we came back to the States and my mom kept it stocked in our pantry, I was SO excited! Nutella on toast is THE best, but my second favorite is a PB+nutella sandwich – SO good!!

  5. Laura Barnes says:

The first season of New Girl is now instant watch on Netflix and it’s pretty much the best thing ever. You have to check it out! Trust me – you won’t stop laughing!

  6. Rachel Wells says:

Oooo, love the preview! Can’t wait to see the rest of that engagement session! I have the biggest sweet tooth EVER, and constantly try sugar fasting. It never goes well for me…I DID make it a month one time, though!

  7. Goodness, this picture is gorgeous!!! <3

  8. You’ve gotta try Nutella slathered on a King’s Hawaiian roll… it’s pure happiness. 🙂

  9. Tina Raquel says:

This is so beautiful! I see a lot of “under the dock” photos, and they are often too dark or shadowing, this is just perfect! I’d love to have a photo like this!

  10. Seriously Abby that image is STUNNING! I can’t wait to see the full post! And my husband just started cutting sugar yesterday too!

  11. This image is PERFECT! I’m in love!

  12. Sarah H. says:

I am right there with ya girl about Netflix! We finally got what we needed in order to have Netfilx, Pandora, etc of here. And I am so thankful! And yet – I find it absolutely too easy to sit on the couch and watch episode after episode of Parks and Rec – all of which I have seen already. lol. Oh – and I got Greg into Bones, so we are starting at season one – did I mention I have seen probably 6 of the seasons entirely already? lol.
