Gooood morning! It’s a Monday, the sun is shining, and the tree outside my office window is in full bloom. Life is good! I was awoken this morning by two cold, wet noses pressing into my face, which is also always a good start. We’re puppysitting for my brother and sister-in-law’s Beagle/Jack Russel mix for a bit, so Lily’s had to get used to having a brother around the house. I wish I could say she’s been a gracious host, but it’s taken a little while for her to adjust. The first night, she pushed Scruffy off the bed no less than four times. And any time he’s come over to snuggle up, Lily pushes right between us, just to make sure he knows that I belong to her. It does make me feel good, in a weird sort of way!

As always, lessons learns/things that transpired over the past week:

  • New York City soft pretzels: not as good as I’d hoped for. BUT did you know you can buy frozen soft pretzels at the grocery store, and then just warm them up in the microwave? Delicious!
  • During the first bit of my run through Central Park on Tuesday, I didn’t realize that dogs are allowed off-leash in most areas of the park. I saw a hound galloping around without a leash and attempted to catch him to help return him to his owner, but then I saw every other dog in the park off-leash and realized I’m a total goof.
  • New Yorkers: not as talkative as those in the South. “I like your blouse!” “…thanks…” “K bye!”
  • There’s nothing like a fresh wedding season to exercise the excuse to go shopping! I needed a new dress to shoot weddings in so I headed to Banana Republic, and just happened to hit their “spend $100, get $50 off” sale. So I bought two! It’s only logical, right?

There’s a ton of gorgeousness coming to the blog this week, so stay tuned! This stunning shoot at the Cliffs of Moher is up tomorrow :).

  2. Urška Majer says:

Interesting that does don’t have to be on a leash! I’m sure my Tisa would enjoy a park like that 🙂 And this looks like a stunning shot 🙂

  3. Jean says:

Beautiful photo. New York is a unique city, for sure.

  4. rebekah j. says:

eee can’t wait to see that shoot tomorrow!

  5. If you want soft pretzels, you need to go to Philly, not NYC 🙂
