Happy Monday, friends! I hope you had as amazing of a weekend as I did. Russell & Kelsey were married on Saturday at Breaux Vineyards with Ashlee Virginia and I was a little nervous going into it- the forecast was calling for nonstop rain allllll day. Somehow, though, we not only managed to avoid the rain, but we ended up with the most spectacular sunset I’ve ever seen in Virginia! See what I mean?!

And then on Sunday, we had our first sub-70 degree day (YAY FALL!), so that just made everything else more rosy. I got to meet and photograph Shawn & Ashley’s new addition, Sawyer, and then rounded out the day by making my favorite recipe from the Harry Potter cookbook (Kreacher’s French Onion Soup, in case you’re wondering) while I drank a pumpkin ale. It was the perfect Sunday!

As always, lessons learned/events that transpired over the past week:

• The subway tiling in our kitchen is finally done! Matt started the project this past April while I was in Europe, and we ended up bringing in a contractor to finish up the rest of it. It looks so good
• I bought an entire bushel of peaches last week. Why? Because 1) I really love peaches, and 2) Matt really loves peach cobbler. I froze a few batches so that we can have cobbler in the middle of winter, once we’re tired of soup and hot chocolate!
• But then I didn’t freeze them all in time and some of them went bad. Dangit.
• I’m having complete writer’s block right now and can’t think of anything else to type. So you’ll have to forgive me for today’s especially short Monday Mash-Up!
