Happy Monday, friends! After what was supposed to be a rain-soaked weekend, it’s awfully gorgeous and sunny outside! Did any actually experience the promise deluge + crazy winds we were promised? I shot on both Saturday & Sunday and only ever saw drizzles! Woo!

How gorgeous is Greta?? She was such a stunning bride on Sunday!

The upside of all of that was that snuggling back into your duvet is now an acceptable response to the alarm going off in the morning. Which is fine by me until Sirius crawls onto Matt’s side of the bed and inches closer and closer until we’re nose to nose. A cold snout to the face isn’t as pleasant of a wake-up, but I’ll take it over barking any day :).

As always, lessons learned/events that transpired over the past week:

Actually, nothing really happened over the last week. I plowed through a lot of edits, and also spent a lot of time beating myself for a few pounds I’ve gained over the last couple of months from snacking-while-bored-or-attempting-to-procrastinate. And that’s been kind of hard to deal with. So yeah, that’s been my week! Not super cheerful or encouraging, but I’m nothing if not honest :).

We’re trying really hard to keep to Paleo, which we do well with at home. But it’s the snacking thing that’s killing me. I’m finding that portioning things like raw almonds, dried fruit trail mix, and pumpkin seeds into single-serving bags is really helpful, but aside from that, I’m struggling. It’s been hard getting back into running, too, because I’ve been running the same trails for four years now and to be honest, I could use something new.

Any suggestions from the peanut gallery on tracking what you’re eating, or ways to help curb the urge to snack when bored? I’m all ears!

And here’s a reminder for myself of the man who thinks I’m gorgeous, no matter what. I know that, because he tells me I’m beautiful every single day.

Girl, I feel you about the running thing! I’m not a very good runner to begin with, but this time of year it always feels like too much — I try to take a conscious break from it so that when weddings slow down I’m excited (as excited as one can get) to get back into it! I like to snack too — sometimes I pop in a piece of chewing gum so that my mouth is “busy” without eating 🙂 🙂

You could try Whole30! It’s very similar to Paleo but it’s a structured program that you do for 30 days. They discourage snacking (they think it’s more like grazing). I’m a rules follower and being on the program and having rules to follow helped me to be more disciplined in avoiding mindless snacking and giving into cravings. I challenged myself to see if I was genuinely hungry (like could I eat meat and potatoes) or if I was craving. And if I was craving, I’d go take a walk to get my mind off it.
