Can we talk about the fact that Thanksgiving is on Thursday? It’s been warmer than usual around here, and I think I equate colder weather with the approaching holidays. So the fact that our first frost wasn’t until this morning means I am in NO way, shape, or form ready for Thanksgiving. I was utterly scandalized last week when we saw them putting Christmas decorations up in Reston Town Center last week until Matt reminded me that it was already November 19th. WHAT? When did this happen??

And now that I realize Christmas is on its way, I find myself wanting to be in Manhattan. Preferably while it’s snowing, but I’d be happy with a simple chill in the air! EFF, I love New York.

As always, lessons learned/events that transpired over the past week!

  • My blogging calendar is way off. I completely overestimated my blogging prowess last week, so we’ll be playing some fun catch-up this week and next!
  • Our time in Charleston last week was SO good! I’ve never been a foodie (exhibit A: my love of Spaghettios), but time in Low Country could probably turn me into one. We had dinner one night at a random cafe on our way back to the hotel, and the two bites I had of Matt’s goat cheese + prosciutto sandwich were the best I’ve ever had. And let’s talk about the grits: I’ve never had grits as good as the stuff I had in Charleston. Take me back!
  • Proof that Matt is the best husband ever: “Hey babe,” he says to me on his day off. “Would you want to go to Home Goods and Pottery Barn today to get some ideas for the print shop?”
  • If you have a dog that isn’t a huge snuggler, but you WANT them to become one, just add another pup to your family. Dog A will get jealous when Dog B tries to cuddle up to his or her new owners, and Dog A will suddenly become the snuggliest pup ever.
  • Occasionally, this will result in Dog A becoming overly affectionate, resulting in you and your husband gaining a third bed mate every night. But things could be worse!

And a sweet preview from my time with Craig & Lauren last week for their anniversary session- you’re going to love these two!
