Happy Tuesday friends! It’s a good thing yesterday was a government holiday, because I achieved NOTHING except watching three movies from the couch while the snow and then subsequent freezing rain fell outside. Sometimes you just need a day to veg, right? Right.

Also, for those of you who haven’t seen Interstellar, don’t bother. The ending made NO sense, and I wish I could get those 2+ hours of my life back. Granted, I DID enter about 30 minutes after Matt started watching, so perhaps that missing half hour could have made a big difference. I’ll just go read the full synopsis on IMDB now.

You guys never cease to make me laugh! Last week, I posted about my new haircut, which I assumed wouldn’t receive too many hits because, well, it had nothing to do with my business and was purely cosmetic. But last Monday was the MOST-read post I’ve ever written, and the blow saw 4X as many hits as we normally do for an average blog day! So now I know- if I’m ever lacking in blog traffic, just make some sort of huge change to my appearance. Good to know.

As always, lessons learned/events that transpired over the last week!

  • Can I just say THANK YOU to those of you who still read the Mash-Up series? I’ve been on the verge of killing this series several times, but it’s usually the most-read post of the week!
  • I’m still in that fun phase of “what can I do with my new hair?” that results after lopping off a whole buncha length. This past weekend, I blow-dried it straight, and I think I might like that more than the wavy look! I would have taken a photo, but I always feel squeamish about selfies because they feel so self-serving. Maybe next time!
  • The Shoot & Share photo contest voting started yesterday and I think I may abstain from voting this year. Because last year, I easily lost DAYS of my life to voting, and I just can’t go through the torture again!
  • I love second shooting! I don’t get to do it very often, but on Saturday I had the joy of working with my friend Sarah Bradshaw and I was reminded of just how much I can stand to learn from shooting under other talented photographers.
  • There’s nothing like the anticipation of getting your film back! It took me a week and a half to send off my first few rolls from my new Yashica (partly because I think I’m worried they’ll all come out terribly), and now that they’re at the lab, I’m dying to see them!

And here’s a photo of my gorgeous friend Richelle (a fabulously talented photographer), because honestly? This week I’d rather be sitting at a cafe in Paris in the sunshine than in the cold wet iciness of Virginia. Only a few more weeks til I’m back in France!
