Happy Monday morning, you guys! This week is going to be an AMAZING one- not only is my wedding season kicking off on Saturday with a gorgeous fête at the Four Seasons in Georgetown (with Cheers Darling Events!), but then I leave for France on Sunday! This’ll be a little shorter of a trip than usual, but I’m so excited- anniversary + ballerina sessions in Paris, and an engagement session in London. And perhaps a quick trip up north to Normandy [insert #allthehearteyedemojis!]. I’m so excited!
This was one of those weeks that was so jam packed that I had to look back at my camera roll on my iphone to remember all that happened :). So according to my phone, these are the lessons learned/events that transpired over the past week!
- I shot not once, but TWICE down at the cherry blossoms last week! Yes, I am crazy. Kevin & Stephanie’s session was so gorgeous on Wednesday that I called my anniversary couple, Sean & Kristen, and asked if they’d be up for changing their location to the Tidal Basin as well!
- That being said, photographing at the cherry blossoms is NOT for the faint of heart. Wednesday was relatively calm, but Thursday was insane. I’m so luck Sean & Kristen were so easy going!
- I was on the radio AND the TV news last week! Someone from WTOP interviewed me about photographing at the blossoms, and then a cameraman from Channel 9 News filmed Kevin & Stephanie as we were shooting at the Tidal Basin! Let me tell you- hearing your own voice coming out of the radio is weird.
- Creative At Heart last week was, as usual, completely amazing. Full recap coming later this week, but suffice to say, I think this past one was my favorite yet!
- I rented a fancy schmancy monolight this past weekend, the Profoto B1, and I think I’m in love. Justin Marantz got me hooked on the idea, and I think I might just have to get one for myself. I spent a few hours practicing with it and LOVE how easy it is to use! Just when I thought I was done buying equipment…
A test shot from Friday night. Because HOW PRECIOUS IS THIS?!
The Serious Springmann Family Portrait. We don’t mess around.
And here’s a fun oopsy-daisies photo- my Canon remote was being finicky so the timing of the shutter release was a bit unpredictable. WOO!
