Iiiiiit’s MONDAY! Are you pumped? Because I’m pumped. I’m also a little behind schedule, because Mondays after a wedding weekend are usually my day off, so this morning was not one of those mornings where I headed straight into my office. And I am totally ok with that!
This weekend was a good one. Friday night saw us at Mini Golf In The Dark with my parents, which was hilarious and fun, after which I tried Rita’s Italian Ice for the first time, which was amazing. And Saturday was Eric & Lindsey’s WEDDING day! I first met these two at Claire & Ryan’s wedding last June, and then saw them again in December at Aaron & Shannon’s wedding, so seeing all of them together again was like a fun little reunion!
As always, lessons learned/events that transpired over the past week:
- Rain is not a death sentence to wedding day portraits. It’s just a creativity test! We were determined to shoot bridal party portraits outside on Saturday, so the videographer and I began spreading towels out on the courtyard to soak up excess water before bringing Lindsey and her bridesmaids out. #dedication.
- I had another night in by myself last night so I decided to make Beef & Guinness Stew from my Unofficial Harry Potter Cookbook. I began cooking at 8:30 pm, at which time I read through the entire set of instructions and realized the stew needed to simmer for a total of 2.5 hours. So rather than abandoning ship, I pushed ahead.
- Dinner ended up being at 11:30pm last night.
- Next time, I’ll read all directions before decided on a recipe.
- Last Tuesday I witnessed a monstrous crime: I wait ALL SPRING for the peony bushes in our neighborhood to bloom because it’s a huge joy for me to walk the pups and see those bright, fluffy flowers waving hello. And last week, the first few blooms popped! BUT THEN I saw two 8ish-year-old girls walking away from the bushes with their hands full of peonies, and I ran over to the bush to find ALL of the new blooms hacked off. And not with scissors, nope- they’d pulled entire pieces of the plant out of the ground, roots and all.
- And worse, there were a dozen almost-ready flower buds that had been broken off and carelessly discarded by said 8ish-year-olds. I tried to salvage those by placing them in water, but they never bloomed.
- My wrath was a terrible thing to behold. (I mean, not really- they’re 8ish. But in my head, I let them have it, you know?)
Another preview from Eric & Lindsey’s wedding on Saturday- you’ll have to wait til Thursday to see the rest! It’ll be worth the wait, I promise :).

Omggg! The girls!!! Sounds like an eventful week! Excited to see Eric & Lindsey’s wedding photos!
Gahhh already so obsessed with every sneak peek photo from their wedding! Perfect and dreamy per usual 🙂
I love peonies, too, but if we had them the deer would eat them and I’d feel like you did about the girls.???? Gorgeous photos!
That settles it then I am planting some peonies in our yard and chaining a pit bull next to them, or maybe a beehive?!?!?!?
