Happy Monday, friends! Today’s awesome. Know why? Because I cleaned my office on Friday for a fun shoot/project with Kaitlyn Phipps, which means my desk is clutter-free this morning!! And I’m realizing what a huge difference that makes- if my office is a mess, it’s likely going to mean I end up working from the couch or dining room table. And when I do that, I’m MUCH more likely to get distracted by the dogs, Netflix, or multiple cups of coffee.

But this morning, I was actually EXCITED to get into my office! There’s a pretty pitcher of soft pink tulips to my left, I have my favorite Rewined candle burning to my right, and I’m ready to get stuff done. I used to have a policy that I’d clean my desk off EVERY evening before closing my office doors, and I’m thinking it’s time to return to that. I’ve always been a really messy person, and it’s not til things are organized and tidy that I realize just how much productivity I’m missing out on when things are cluttered!

The only downside to working downstairs in my office is that I usually forget to eat lunch. It’s 12:41 as I write this and my stomach is rumbling. Maybe I need to start putting reminders in my phone to break for meals!

As always, lessons learned/events that transpired over the past week!

  • I left my wedding band in the refrigerator. Matt finds a lot of weird things in the refrigerator because I tend to be a bit scatterbrained in the kitchen, but my wedding ring was a first. My only defense is that I’d taken it off to grab a pickle from the pickle jar… and then forgot when I’d put it.
  • We’ve recently discovered that Matt is gluten-intolerant, which is going to make planning our September trip in France very interesting.
  • I love Stone Tower Winery so much that I’ve been three times in the last 8 days. Once for rosé cuvée with Kevin & Arienne last Saturday, then again on Friday for Pedro & Jessie’s wedding (YAY!!), and then once more yesterday for vino with Rob & Alicia!
  •  And while I was there on Friday for the wedding, I heard my name being called from the upper balcony- it turns out Lyn was there, too! It was SO fun bumping into my FIRST Stone Tower bride while shooting a wedding at the venue.
  • If I had to choose a favorite pup, it would be Lily- we’ve had her longest, and she’s the first dog I ever brought home. But most everyone else who comes over to our house seems to prefer Sirius, and we realized it’s because Lily’s only really sweet with US- whenever other people are around, she acts like a standoffish princess. #spoiled.
  • Know what’s embarrassing? Sending a goofy video of yourself to your brother, only to realize you send it to his OLD number, and then you get a text back from the stranger-who-now-owns-your-brother’s-old-number that says “wrong numbers…I’m out.” WHOOPS!

Just a quick preview from Friday’s gorgeous wedding festivities!! I’m so excited for you guys to see Pedro & Jessie’s fête on Thursday!
