I love Nerds. But you all probably already know that, so let me be specific: I love green, purple and pink Nerds, in that order. The orange and yellow ones are disgusting, and that’s a scientific fact. If you know of any organizations in third world countries that accept donations of leftover orange and yellow Nerds, let me know. I feel bad wasting approximately 40% of the box but hey, I know what I like.

Most people probably just pop an entire handful of Nerds in their mouth at one time. But me? No way. I separate them out according to preference, so that I can enjoy a pile of unadulterated green Nerds without the pink ones trying to vie for my attention.

If I were to break down my diagnosis of Nerds into a scientific module, this would be my approximate display:

Happy Thursday!

A Particular Way of Doing Things

January 26, 2012

  1. This is by far one of the strangest things I have ever heard! But I am sure I eat certain candy in werid ways. I do just eat them altogether. I suppose you liked the boxes with the two sides so you could choose the flavor you wanted to eat. They should bring those back!

  2. Now I’m craving nerds…thanks for that lol.

  3. Dang, I haven’t had Nerds in sooo long! I must try a box and test your scientific facts 😉

  4. Hahaha! I am like that with most things.. Skittles, especially! Come to think of it, I don’t remember the last time I ate Nerds.. !!

  5. Justin Ferry says:

This was probably one of my favorite posts to read. I laughed at the bluntness of both your description and photos the whole time. Awesome.

  6. Rebekah Hoyt says:

    My mouth is watering.

  7. Elizabeth says:

LOL. I don’t think I have ever had yellow or orange nerds by themselves. My least favorite, though, are purple, and my fav are pink… kinda of like with skittles. I always separate those, and my fav is red and least fav is purple!

I think everyone is going to go out and buy some Nerds after reading this. The company should thank you.

  8. Hollie says:

    LOL. Nasty crap! hahaha

  9. Justin Cassavaugh says:

HAHA! What does Matt think of the “Nasty Crap”? 😉

  10. Amanda Young says:

When I was in middle school, I had an argument with a friend that skittles all tasted the same. I am of the “pop them all in” type, and my friend swore some tasted good and others didn’t. We blindfolded her and she could tell me which color I had handed her. My mind was blown. Ever since, I have never doubted that things with color dyes do indeed have different flavors to people with more sensitive palates than my own. Kudos to you for knowing what you like! 😉

  11. Ha! I never knew they had different flavors. I’ll have to pay more attention from now on 🙂

  12. Bethany says:

I think the exact opposite is true! I enjoy the yellow and orange ones the most! But Green are good too.

  13. Jean Hensley says:

I used to do that with jelly beans. Of course that was long before Nerds! Very cute!

  14. hahahahahaahahaahah this cracks me up. we need to be friends.

  15. Man, I love this! NERDS are simply one of the best candies in the world.

  16. Julie Flury says:

haha! So I am guess this is why you would like regular box nerds better than nerd ropes…you cant separate them…lol

  17. Kristen says:

You and your nerds make me smile 🙂
