It’s an absolute honor to be asked to photograph anyone’s wedding, something I never get over when we book a new date on our calendar. But if being their wedding photographer is a privilege, there’s something next-level about being asked to photograph them again after their wedding day. Kip & Liz’s wedding was one of my all-time favorite days- a ceremony at the President’s Church, portraits at Lafayette Square and the Lincoln Memorial, and a brunch reception at Decatur House. Pretty much the most patriotic day ever!
Now that they’ve been married for a few years, it’s an absolute delight to see how they’ve grown. More in love, a deeper and more full understanding of each other, a closeness that only comes with experiencing the mountain tops as well as the valleys. This is the sort of significance I’ve always hoped would be attached to these kinds of portraits.
Liz & Kip, I don’t know how to thank you for allowing me to help you celebrate this time. It was such an honor, truly, one I will always be immensely grateful for. Matt and I are sending hugs your way for the upcoming season!!
