Why is it that as creative entrepreneurs, so many of us seem to have SUCH a hard time accepting compensation for the work we do?

Episode #4 is one I took a LOT of care in writing, because it’s one of THE most important ingredients in owning a business: the concept of Profit. Because no matter WHAT industry you work in, whether it’s art, tech, food, engineering, medicine, whatever: business without profit? That’s just a hobby.

And yet for some reason, especially in the art world, we tend to regard “Profit” as an ugly, four-letter word. We’re so afraid to assert the value of our work because we’ve bought into the self-perpetualized myth that “artists are supposed to starve.”

But the thing about myths? They’re not true. And just like we as humans finally wizened up that the sun wasn’t ACTUALLY pulled across the sky by Apollo, so too have we learned that the proverbial “starving artist” isn’t a real thing.

Or, at least, it doesn’t NEED to be!

If you’re a creative who wants to either build a business or STAY in business, but is grappling with the concept of charging for your work, you absolutely MUST watch today’s episode: Why Profit Matters for Creative Small Businesses!

You literally cannot afford to miss this one.
