I’ve finally discovered why I love photographing USNA couples so much; because they’re almost always accustomed to enduring long bouts of being separated by hundreds, sometimes thousands of miles, the time they do have together is treasured, savored, sweet. Which makes photographing them SUCH a joy! John and Kristy fit the bill exactly; from their proposal on Capitol Hill to their engagement session in San Francisco to their wedding in Annapolis, every single time I had them in front of my camera it just got better and better.
And on top of that, their wedding day was just stunning! Kristy’s taste in color, florals, all of it was absolutely perfect for their USNA Chapel ceremony and reception at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum. I loved watching these two revel in their brand new titles of “Mr. & Mrs.” as the night wore on, from nautical portraits at the venue to John & his groomsmen singing “You lost that loving feeling” to his new bride, Top Gun style.
John & Kristy, I can’t tell you what a thrill it’s been to be your photographer over the last year and a half! You’re both so darn good together, and I’m forever grateful for your trust and willingness to go along with all my harebrained ideas for portraits. SO much love to you both!
