Something I’ve struggled with for years now is the concept of cohesion across ALL touch points of my brand. Sure, my website and blog are consistent, and my Instagram feed up-to-scratch with my brand values and visual identity. But what about the PHYSICAL touch points? Like paper goods and packaging?

For the first 5+ years of my business, there was a complete lack of consistency- at first, I hand-branded all my paper goods and packaging (like, I rubber-stamped and embossed EVERY piece of paper collateral). When it became clear that wasn’t sustainable, I ordered press printed cards from Millers. But then I ran out of press-printed cards and never got around to ordering more, so my paper collateral became whatever I felt like buying whenever I went to Paper-Source. Not ideal.

Cue: Nicole Anderson Paper Co. I love Nicole. We first met as bridesmaids in Meg & William’s wedding, then I had the privilege of photographing Nicole’s wedding last summer, and now she’s my go-to authority for all things paper-related! I knew if anyone could handle creating a paper suite for my scatterbrained self, it was her! And sure enough, she delivered.

I’m in LOVE with my new suite of paper products! Nicole was incredibly thorough- I’d say “I need a notecard” and she’d respond with “what do you think about doing a folded card, and one smaller flat card?”

Together, we came up with the idea for the drink card, which is my FAVORITE part of the entire ensemble! I send those along with every wedding guide magazine that we send to our new wedding couples.

The address sticker makes every outgoing package feel that much more consistent- no more scribbling on the box or mailer envelope. This helps everything feel sleek and classic.

Brand cohesion is important because it’s another way to teach your clients to trust you! I want every single point of contact my clients have with me to feel perfectly aligned with the reputation I’ve created for myself- luxurious, chic, high-end and timeless. It consistently drives home the point that I am who I say I am, and that they can trust me to deliver what I’ve promised! It’s the small things that add up to create a bigger picture of who we are and what we stand for as a small business.
