I don’t have many (if any) photos from my ballet days. I think maybe we have a couple backstage shots from Nutcracker, but none of me dancing. And I know it’s not that big of a deal, but part of me is really sad that I won’t have those visual memories to share with my kids one day.

…which is why it made me SO happy when Lilly’s mom, Aly, emailed me about portraits of her daughter! You all know I don’t normally photograph tiny dancers, but after hearing from Aly, I just knew I needed to meet Lilly. This girl has so much personality- spunk and humor and a love of Harry Potter, all wrapped into her sweet ballerina self? Yes please! She was so much fun, and I loved my time with them!

Lilly & Aly, thank you so much for letting me capture these photographs for you all! Lilly, whether you continue dancing for another 2 or 20 years, I hope you never lose the grace & poise you possess, girlfriend. You’re such a joy to be around!
