I first had the chance to photograph these two last summer when we met up in Brooklyn for their engagement session, and I knew after just 2-3 shots in that I was in for a treat. Toby has this smile that lights up her whole visage, and a laugh that follows suit. Andrew, being more reserved, was happiest and most comfortable when he and Toby were wrapped up close, which ended up proving to be perfect for their chilly wedding day!

We began their day at the Fairmont, DC with the most relaxed atmosphere, and the entire day followed in similar fashion! So much of that came down to Toby & Andrew’s personalities, as well as those of their family & friends, but also to their incredible planner Bryce of Roberts & Co. Everything that day went off without a hitch, including a surprise from Toby’s mom at the end of the ceremony- with Andrew reporting for Major League Baseball, it was only fitting that DC’s very own Racing Presidents be the first to congratulate them after tying the knot! I LOVED being in on the surprise, and Andrew & Toby were totally shocked that Deb had managed to pull it off. From start to finish, the entire day felt like a gathering family. My very favorite sort of wedding to capture.

Toby & Andrew, I loved every minute of your day and wish we could do it all over again! For two people who told me they don’t love being in front of the camera, you guys sure are amazing at it- I loved having the privilege of capturing such a monumental day for you and your families. Thank you, thank you for letting me into your space, and for doing so with such warmth and joy!
