Have you ever had an idea, but been afraid to execute it for fear that it won’t live up to your expectations? That was this shoot for me. I’d been dreaming of photographing a ballerina dripping in florals for a looong time, but kept putting it off because I was afraid I’d disappoint everyone involved, including myself.

When I did finally put on my big girl trousers and reach out to Sweet Root Village about my vision (because they were the only ones I wanted to work on the florals for this shoot!), they were so quick to jump on board! And the final product speaks for itself. I was blown. away. The way they draped our ballerina Madi in florals was beyond anything I’d imagined for myself, and I danced my way through this session with such JOY that everything turned out so beautifully!

Lauren & Rachel, thank you so very much for being willing to team up with me on this!! You took my vague descriptions of “something cherry blossom-related with a tutu made of flowers” and turned it into a floral fairy tale. Thank you for being SO good at what you do!!

Massive thanks to Lindsay of No Filter Glam for the beautiful job she did on Madi’s hair and makeup (former dancers unite!), and to Madi for being THE perfect model for this shoot. I’m so grateful for you both!
