I can’t imagine how it feels to be a guy getting ready to pop the question to his sweetheart. As a photographer, I get really nervous before proposals! So, if MY hands are trembling slightly in anticipation, how anxious must he be?!

John contacted me about a month beforehand- he knew he’d found his girl, now all that was left was to make it official. So he planned a night out in DC, a few weeks before Kristy’s graduation from law school. And what would be more romantic than to take her back to the place they walked on their first date, the Capitol reflecting pool? We camped out well in advance and kept praying the light mist wouldn’t give way to full-fledged rain, and sure enough, it held out for us! John & Kristy stepped out of the town car, meandered over to the reflecting pool, and John asked her that most important question. Her joy was SO sweet to behold!
