Their story began, as many do, by chance. A friend of Megan’s had taken her to the restaurant where Phil worked, and at first? She wasn’t interested at all. It took another encounter for her notice him (in a good way), so she took out an insurance policy to make sure she saw him again- she stole his hat. And by and by, they came to regard each other as more than just a casual romance, so when Phil left with the US Marine Corps for a tour of Iraq, he knew Megan would be waiting for him when he came home. And so she was.
And so there we all were, a few years later on a Saturday in September, watching Phil wait for Megan one more time. And when she entered the room on the arm of her father, there was hardly a dry eye to be found as everyone watched Phil melt at the sight of his bride. Bliss, sheer bliss.
Phil & Megan, thank you. Thank you a thousand times over for being as crazy-in-love, as fun, as welcoming as you both are. I’ve treasured the chance to get to know you both over the past year and half, and photographing your wedding was nothing short of an honor. I’m blessed to have you both as my clients and my friends! I hope Mexico was better than you ever imagined!

Megan and Phil opted to save their portraits for after the ceremony, but Megan did ask if we could budget in time to do a first look with her Dad. I loved this!

After shooting Phil & Megan’s e-session in DC last year, I knew their wedding day portraits were going to be a treat. I love how they aren’t afraid to become completely absorbed in the moment!
