Today is a VERY special day, because it’s the 200TH MONDAY MASH-UP POST!! Can you believe this series is four years old?! I can’t! What was originally created as a filler series during the days when I blogged ever day, Monday-Friday has become my MOST-read post every week. I’ve considered giving MMU the axe several times over the last few years, but every time I mention that to someone, the response is “no, don’t! That’s my favorite post every week- I look forward to it on Mondays!”

(^this is why Matt doesn’t love it when I wear lipstick- because every time he kisses me, he has to wipe red pigment off of his face. It was super romantic during our portraits with David Abel in Paris)

So to everyone who reads these posts, thank you. I don’t know why you come back every week, but I’m super grateful that you do! (Maybe you come for the BTS photos like the one above?)

And to my Granny, who comments on every single Monday Mash-Up (along with my other posts throughout the week), I love you!

As always, lessons learned/events that transpired over the past week:

• I finally saw the impossible. We went to Dairy Queen on Friday and the guy behind the counter was delivering a Blizzard to the two kids in front of us. He does the standard DQ thing and tips it upside down (why do they do that?) and SPLAT. The whole thing of ice cream and sugary goodness slid out of the cup and onto the counter.
• I’d like to think it was karma because the DQ guy had been kind of rude to the kids who’d ordered the Blizzard in the first place. It’s like the Golden Rule says- “Do unto other as you would have them do unto you. Cuz if you don’t, your ice cream will fall on the floor.” Or something like that.
• We ventured out to my favorite vineyard on Friday, Stone Tower Winery, and decided that we love that place so much we needed to be members. And I was slightly disappointed we didn’t get some kind of sweet membership card, or at least a secret handshake tutorial.
• But I feel REALLY cool being a CLUB member! I’ve never been part of a club before- not except for that time in second grade when someone in my class created “The Singing Club” and wouldn’t let me in, so I created “The Sunflower Club” in retaliation. And all that was required to be in my club was to draw a sunflower with a marker on the back of your hand. TAKE THAT, Singing Club!

• Also, I love Snapchats selfie filters. And seeing my Dad messing with the frown-y face filter was easily one of the best things I’ve seen all year.

And it’s texts like this from Matt that make me fall in love with him even more. I’m an avid movie and song quoter and occasionally burst into melody in public settings. So I asked if here were on the way to church and he sent these back, I laughed REALLY hard. (PS- here’s the song he was referencing)
