Iiiit’s TUESDAY! And I didn’t realize yesterday was Columbus Day until breakfast. That’s one of the drawbacks to working for yourself from home- no boss to tell you to take off standard government holidays. And thus, you forget to take off said holiday, and end up working through a day off!

But the good news is that my 2017 Day Designer came in the mail last week, so I’ll be going through the monthly calendars later today with washi tape, marking off ALL the usual bank holidays! Because truthfully, three day weekends are amazing! And as much as I love my job, it’s really nice to have an occasional excuse to head to Stone Tower Winery for a Monday afternoon glass of wine and cheese plate :).

As always, lessons learned/events that transpired over the past week:

  • I think Mother Nature hates me- poison ivy in September, and then three bee stings last week in a span of four seconds. FOUR. SECONDS.
  • In case you’re wondering how the bee stings happened, I was tending to our honeybee hives and accidentally jostled one of the boxes. And apparently when one bee stings you, it releases a pheromone telling the other bees the hive is under attack and they need to defend it with their lives, aka by stinging you.
  • And on that note, know what doesn’t mix well? Benadryl tablets (for said bee stings) and a French 75. I fell asleep at 7:30pm and couldn’t figure out why I was so. dang. tired.
  • We got a Nespresso machine! I’ve been keeping an eye out for one to go on sale for a while now, and we just happened to walk past the coffee makers at Target last week. I found one that makes both espresso AND coffee (and has a milk froth-er), and it was 50% off, AND we had a gift card. It was meant to be.
  • MY FILM FROM FRANCE CAME IN!!! I’m so excited to share it with you guys over the next couple of weeks! Shooting film for all my travels helps it feel like vacation isn’t really over til you get your scans :).

Here’s a preview of the world’s cutest couple, Sean & Emily- because when your evening engagement session consists of adorable laughs, Parks & Rec quotes, and talking about how they’re most excited for their first look on the wedding day, you know you have the best job ever. I can’t wait to share them with you!!
