Please excuse me while I totally geek out over David & Natalie’s portraits. When Natalie and I first spoke about their engagement session, she somewhat hesitantly asked if I might possibly be willing to shoot them on a sailboat, seeing as David was on the sailing team during his time at the US Naval Academy.

The following line is unedited internal dialogue on my part:

**OMG YASSSSSSSS all my dreams are coming true!! How can I say yes without sounding too eager? Be cool, Abby… be COOL.**

I was so excited!! I’d been wanting to shoot on a sailboat for ages, and these two made it (pardon the pun) a breeze. And it was such a joy to be able to capture their portraits in a way that so perfectly suits THEM, instead of asking what my normal go-to is and settling for that. I’m so grateful they trusted me with this.

David & Natalie, I had so much fun with you two out on the water! Thank you for your unending patience as we dealt with changing light, moving shadows, and the challenges of shooting on a fluid surface- this was such a highlight of my season. Can’t wait to see you both again in just a few months!! xoxo
