Last week I received one of the best emails a photographer can find in their inbox- “Your scans are ready!” WOOO! During out two week trip in Europe I made it my mission to shoot all of my personal work on film. Instead of carrying my mk3 with me through London, I brought [lugged] my Contax, so rather than 3,000 digital files to dig through and edit, I simply had to send my film off to RPL. I was originally planning to blog all of our Europe film at once, but there are just so many to share that I figured it would be kinder to break it up into three separate posts- next week I’ll share my scans from Stamford and Paris!

For now, enjoy the first half of our trip on film.

After a couple of days in London, our amazing host Margaret took Matt & I on a tour around their hometown of Hemel Hempstead and the surrounding areas.

For those who are curious- a mix of Fuji 400H, Portra 400 & Portra 800, all shot on the Contax 645, developed at Richard Photo Lab.

Happy Friday!

Amazing! I remember when you and I were there about 5 years ago and you were just starting to become interested in photography. It’s been fun to watch you go on from there. My interest seemed to be caught mostly by the rural shots, only because they looked just as they would have when Jane Austen took her rural walks in Hampshire. Your photos made me feel like I was there again. Beautiful! Mom
