I know I say this a lot, but the couples I have the fortune of photographing are the best in the world. When I first met Vinnie and Maria, it was three years ago in a Starbucks in Sterling- they were newly engaged, she was finishing up her senior year at JMU, and he was knee-deep in his first year in the corporate world. I remember sitting there for over an hour, just chatting about life, love, and their wedding day, and I knew I was going to love them. Their wedding day was such  a testament to their nature as a couple, and it’s still one of my favorite examples of a couple not letting wedding day stress dampen their joy!

It’s been a little more than two years since their wedding day, and I was SO pleased to get an email from Maria a few weeks back, asking about the Anniversary Experience. “We’ve grown so much and our lives have changed in many ways,” she’d said. And that’s why I love her. Because she recognized that this time, while it’s still just the two of them, it’s worth documenting. That their love, the growth of their relationship, it’s worth celebrating. And what a joy and an honor to be the one to do it!

Vinnie & Maria, thank you for finding and choosing me to be the one to help document your love story. Photographing you two is always such a treat, and I’m so grateful for the way you love one another! Next time, we’ll tote the fur babies along, yeah? Yeah :).
