It was June of 2005 when Robbie and Juliann found themselves walking the campus of Radford University- it was freshman orientation, you see. There they were, each with their respective families, both probably a bit nervous to be so out of their element, embarking on a new adventure. Well, Robbie may have been nervous, but Juliann’s meticulous planning and organizational skills left her no doubt that this was exactly where she was supposed to be. But I digress…

As they strolled the gorgeous campus, taking in the open quads and classic brick buildings, suddenly their parents saw each other and hint of recognition dawned on them. Juliann & Robbie’s parents were old friends, yet somehow their children had never met. Introductions were made, embarrassed smiles were exchanged, and something special was sparked in that moment. And seven years later, Robbie and Juliann found themselves together with their families again, but this time on the veranda of a golf club, pledging to love and protect as long as they both shall live.

Robbie & Juliann, I am so incredibly thankful that you place your trust in me to document your wedding day. Watching you together was FUN- you two are such a team and complement each other in so many ways, picking up where the other leaves off and bettering each other as individuals. Thank you, a hundred times over, for the absolute joy of photographing your love! I hope California and Cancun are treating you well!

We began in Gainesville…

Robbie & Juliann opted to do a First Look and I was SO glad they did! Robbie’s reaction was so sweet, and it left us plenty of relaxed time for portraits. The schedule ended up getting a little crunched later on so because we already did their portraits before the ceremony, we didn’t have to worry about losing out on any of these!

I love it when my grooms do things like this without any sort of prompt :).
