I don’t know about y’all, but my weekend was totally awesome. Matt & I had originally been planning to take this weekend out of town for a camping trip, but after we saw how complicated it’d make things with everything else going on in our lives, we decided to hold off until the spring for the camping trip. Instead, we spent Saturday roaming around Temple Hall’s fall festival! Hay rides, pumpkin patches and corn mazes- I was in heaven! I’ll save that all for tomorrow though when I blog the photos from Saturday :).

As always, lessons learned/things that transpired over the weekend:

  • I was born a Dallas fan, and I will die a Dallas fan, but dang do I love RGIII! It’s strange to get used to wanting to see the ‘Skins win (well, the Skins’ quarterback)- it goes against my nature, which is usually to cheer for crushing, humiliating defeat.
  • Here’s a combination of food I don’t recommend eating: hot dog, then chili cheese nachos, then funnel cake, then kettle corn. And then if you spend an hour walking around a corn maze? Stomach ache.
  • It’s probably best to check the weather forecast before you head out for your run- shorts and a t-shirt don’t far well when it’s 40 degrees out.
  • I don’t think I’ll ever be able to settle for plain apple cider ever again- I found a recipe this weekend using oranges, nutmeg, cloves and such and it was AMAZING. And of course, now I can’t find the recipe again. Rats.
  • I’ll totally own the fact that this is not my most riveting Monday Mash-Up ever. I’m trying to get out the door so I can head down to RU for a few days!!

A picture from this weekend!

Happy Monday, friends! Wish me speed as I try to pack and get out of the house in a hurry…

Monday Mash-Up

October 22, 2012

  1. Yay! You are coming here! You will appreciate that the weather this week appears to be sunny and warm while next Tuesday there is apparently a chance of SNOW?!?!?! At least that is what I heard.

  2. Sarah says:

Sounds like you made your own wassail! They make a nutmeggy, orangy, version you can just buy the mix…and you can add wine or not and it’s still yummy
