I think 2013 is my year. Both of my best friends are engaged and planning weddings for next May, meaning I’ve had the chance to photograph the engagements of my two favorite girlfriends! Photographing people close to me is so different- on the one hand, it’s easier because I’ve known Sarah since freshman year of high school, so I don’t have to worry about the awkwardness that can sometimes accompany a few acquaintance. But on the other hand, I’ve known Sarah so long that I just fall into my usual Abby self around her, and it’s easy to forget that I’m in the middle of an engagement session vs. hanging out with my best friend and her fiancé. It all worked out in the end, though- this session is going down in the books as an all-time favorite.

As we were trying to decide on a location, due to Sarah being originally from Virginia but the both of them are currently located in Florida, Sarah came up with the idea of Georgia. “Have you ever been to Savannah? We should do our engagement session there!” And that’s when I was reminded why we’re best friends. I’d been dying to shoot down there, and what better couple to photograph in that gorgeous city than Dan & Sarah? Totally worth the six planes it took to get there and back.

Dan & Sarah, thank you so, so much for bringing me down to Savannah for your session! It could not have been more beautiful of a location, and it was the perfect setting to capture your love. SO EXCITED for next May!! I love you both so, so much!
