I remember as a kid my mom always used to recite this silly little poem whenever the trees started to come into bloom- “Spring has sprung, the grass has riz’, oh how happy I is.” One of those things you roll your eyes at as a kid, but I know sure as day that I’ll be reciting that to my kids one day. And no doubt, they’ll roll their eyes at me too.

Happy Easter, everyone! I hope your day yesterday was just as lovely as can be. We had an amazing service at church yesterday morning, and for the second year in a row I had the joy of hosting the RCC photo booth. Something I learned this year: chocolate goes a LONG way in bribing children to look at the camera and smile. I think I need to start carrying that with me on wedding days to goad tired flower girls and ring bearers to look my way.

As always, lessons learned/events that transpired over the past week:

  • I had my first wedding of the season on Saturday- it went over perfectly! Seriously could NOT have asked for a better start to my 2014 season. Steven & Cara’s day was just plain wonderful.
  • We’re bringing another dog home this week! My brother, Ethan, is going through rounds of allergy shots so that they can keep their family pup, Scruffy. But his allergies are acting up enough at this point that Scruffy needs to stay with someone else for a few months, so Lily, whether she likes it or not, will be getting a live-in buddy. I’ll be sure to keep you posted on how that goes over…
  • Guys, I think I have baby fever. Not like “I want to have children” kind of thing, but just “OH MAH GAH, it’s a baby, I want to squeeze it!” sort of thing. There are a bunch of little ones at our church and they’re all so dang cute!
  • On Thursday, I was invited to watch ABT’s (American Ballet Theater) dress rehearsal of Don Quixote at the Kennedy Center- it was AMAZING! I got to see Misty Copeland dance for the first time and she was utterly mesmerizing, and ABT’s sets are out of this world. If you ever have a chance to see that company perform, do it. You won’t regret it. So many new ideas brewing for future ballerina sessions!

One more preview of Steven & Cara’s UVA wedding (follow me on Instagram @abbygracephoto to keep up with more!)- y’all are going to love this one!

Ugh, I think I’m getting baby fever too. Never thought I would say that. But seeing your friends have babies is SO different than just seeing random babies!
