Goooood morning, Vietnam! And by “Vietnam,” I mean “interwebs.”

It’s the Tuesday after Labor Day, which means it’s the officially unofficial first day of fall. Nevermind that the high today in Virginia is supposed to be 93 with scattered thunderstorms (YESSS!!), it’s the first day of school, which means summer is dead and gone until next year. I try not to be the person that wishes away entire seasons of life (you know, that friend who says in the middle of June “I just can’t wait for fall!”), but dangit if I’m not looking forward to football season and sweaters!

Can we talk about the fact that Starbucks released their Pumpkin Spice Latte last week? That feels borderline sinful. I’m the kind of person who waits until the day after Thanksgiving to listen to Christmas music- I don’t want a particular season to last for TOO long because I don’t want to get sick of it! So I’ll make myself wait until the officially official start of fall (September 23) to enjoy anything autumn-related, like Sam Adams’ Oktoberfest. But not Pumpkin Spice Lattes, because as hard as I’ve tried to like them, I just can’t choke that crap down.

As always, lessons learned/things that transpired over the weekend:

• I have a confession: I secretly love cussing. It’s not that I enjoy being foul-mouthed for the sake of being foul-mouthed, it’s just that sometimes, “Aw, nuts!” doesn’t do your frustration justice.
• Case in point: we took our car for an oil change on Sunday and as I was getting out of the car, I looked at Matt and said “Ahhh SH*T, I forgot my travel mug at church this morning!” The Jiffy Lube employee laughed for FIFTEEN MINUTES at the juxtaposition of that particular sentence.
• Jesus loves me anyways.
• Fact: if I’ve ordered coffee or anything to go and the person behind the counter asks for my name, I’m going to tell them “Voldemort” every. single. time.
