Today’s been a bit of a slow start for me, part of that being related to the fact that I’m moving slow as molasses today. Working out with your husband is no joke, but I have to admit- I love the feeling of sore muscles. We’ve been experimenting with high-intensity interval training, and as hard as it is to get through, I feel GREAT afterwards! And perhaps after my body acclimates a bit more to the workouts, I’ll stop descending stairs as though I have arthritis :).
And here’s a picture of some gelato cones from Rome last spring. Because I like sugar.
Our heating system failed last week- it was super fun! I walked into the house Tuesday afternoon and thought “gosh, am I getting sick? It feels really cold in here!” and sure enough, the thermostat said the temperature was 61 degrees. So I did what any self-respecting woman would do and I Googled what the problem may be. And after reading an article with the “Top 10 reasons your heating might not work,” I decided the easiest solution would be to take apart the thermostat with a screwdriver. You know, to see if the battery needed to be replaced.
Turns out it wasn’t the battery (I actually couldn’t even FIND a battery after taking the thermostat apart), and when I tried to put the thermostat BACK on the wall, it was completely dead. Now, in addition to not being able to control the temperature, I could also no longer see any numbers on the panel.
But the good news was, the problem wasn’t the thermostat. I made sure Matt knew what a great job I did in ruling out that possibility.
As always, lessons learned/events that transpired over the last week!
We’re trying something new over here! With the exception of Monday Mash-Ups, I’m doing my best to get all my posts PRE-written for the week, so that posts are live and ready when you check in in the morning! Mondays are now my pre-blog days, and I have to say- it’s a relief to get up in the morning knowing that my blog is already live. Mondays will typically be posted a bit later (because I don’t work on the weekends, and it would be weird to write a MMU post on a Friday), but I’m hoping you guys’ll just roll with it :).
A SUPER exciting post is coming to the blog later this week, featuring this handsome dude! Betcha can’t guess what it is!

I can’t believe you took the thermostat apart! That’s something I would never fool with. Enjoy Las Vegas in your sparkly clothes.
Hell hath no fury like a woman on a mission! Anytime something breaks, I am CERTAIN I can fix it!!! Those contractor prices are just too painful not to try!
