They met while she was visiting a friend at the Naval Academy- everyone was meeting up for lunch at the Maryland Inn in Annapolis. The first thing she noticed about him were his eyes- “they’re so blue, they just stand out!” They traded names so each could find the other on Facebook, and she left to return home to Chicago. As the days and weeks passed they found themselves spending more and more time chatting over Facebook messaging, eventually changing their statuses to “in a relationship.” It became increasingly apparent to David, Heather, and everyone around them that this midshipman and this Irish belle belong together, and so Heather struck a deal. “If you’ll go to Tiffany’s to look at rings with me, I’ll go ice fishing with you.” So there they were, in the middle of a frozen North Dakota tundra, when a small plane flew overhead, dropping hundreds of flowers onto the ice as it passed. Heather in her confusion turned to David, who pointed to his nieces and nephews standing a few feet away, holding a sign asking “will you be our aunt?” It turns out ice fishing wasn’t so bad :).
David and Heather, I can’t tell you how absolutely thrilled I am to be your photographer! You all are so much fun, such a delight to be around, and I truly can’t wait for your wedding in February. Thank you so much for the opportunity to photograph your love!
