The way he treasures her- it’s inspiring. How he holds her gently and loves her fiercely, how every time he looks at her his entire face lights up. They they thrive in each other’s presence, growing together, learning together, loving together. How she blushes when he kisses he with abandon, how proud she is to call herself his wife. The way they’re loved by their friends and family, and the absolute assurance they have that each one was made for the other.

Their love story began in a residence hall at Virginia Tech, where Shawn first noticed Katie during his round as the RA. The more often their paths crossed, the more convinced they were that they needed to at least give this a shot. And here we are, just over a year later, looking at their wedding photographs! If ever two people are better together than they are apart, it’s the newly-minted Mr. & Mrs. Wallis.

Shawn & Katie, I already knew I adored you two after your e-session. But witnessing your love again on your wedding day with the firm support of your friends and families, seeing you worship together as you united your lives, well? Now I’m smitten with you both. I can’t tell you what an absolute honor it is for me to have been able to photograph your bliss! I hope Jamaica was amazing and that marriage is better than you imagined!

Shawn & Katie opted for a First Look and I was so thankful they did! We had time to roam the property before guests arrived so we were able to take our time and shoot freely. (Special thanks to Sarah Goodwin for that shot in the middle!)
