Good morning from Ocean City!! I’m here for a girls’ weekend getaway (to celebrate our dear friend Natalie’s birthday!), and it’s reminding me just how good it is to occasionally get away from the office. And even moreso, how important fellowship is! As small business owners it’s so easy to become an island unto yourself, but that can be so lonely sometimes! The whole #communityovercompetition movement is blowing up, and I think that has a lot to do with the fact that people crave the ability to be part of something bigger than ourselves. Those Rising Tide Society ladies are pretty smart :).

Ok, as always, lessons learned/events that transpired over the past week:

• If you’re ever on your way to the beach in the summer and you see a roadside fruit stand, STOP. Whatever they’re selling, whether it’s peaches or watermelon or squash, is guaranteed to be 100x better than anything you could buy in the store. And that’s a scientific fact.
• Fractured Prune Donuts- I had one this morning, and I hate to say it, but they’re better than Duck Donuts. If you’re ever in OCMD, make sure to stop there!
• Seafood kind of grosses me out. I can eat a little at a time, but after a few bites the texture starts to gross me out. I WANT to like shelling crabs, I really do! But the green “mustard” inside makes me want to throw up. Am I the only one?
• Guess what? We’re doing a print of the week for Sweet Wandering! Check out the Sweet Wanderings Instagram to see which one we’re featuring this week- it may or may not entail a discount…
• You guys. I made dinner THREE TIMES last week! For anyone who knows me, domesticity is not my forte. But Matt ordered The Paleo Kitchen off of Amazon, and now that I’ve accepted the fact that I need to go to the grocery store more than once a month, I’m learning to love prepping dinner. The recipes are super easy to follow, and everything so far has been deLICIOUS.

It was Matt’s birthday on Saturday, so here’s a photo of my handsome man himself. I think 27 is going to be his best year yet- I’m already more in love with him than I was when he was 26, and he just gets better looking every day!
