Hellooooo! It’s been so weird trying to keep up with the days of the week, but I guess that’s pretty typical with any vacation, right? I woke up this morning and realized that, as it was Monday, I’d better get a move on with at least some sort of excuse for a post :).

Matt and I are having a blast in England! Last week took us to London, Hemel Hempstead and Surrey, and then yesterday we arrived in Stamford to see our family friends, Andy & Angie. The town is several hundred years old and it absolutely blows my mind that some of the building facades date back to the 1200’s. I’ve been shooting a ton of film so I don’t have anything besides iPhone shots to share for now, but I can’t wait to show y’all everything once I’ve had my film developed!

Saturday’s wedding was GORGEOUS. The church was stunning, Deanna & James were exquisite, and the entire day felt like something straight out of a fairy tale. It’ll be a few days longer than usual before I blog it so I’ll post a few more previews than is typical, but I can’t WAIT for you guys to see it. You’re going to flip!

As always, things that have transpired/lessons learned over the past week:

  • Matt & I went running through the grounds of Burghley House today (where part of Pride & Prejudice was filmed!) where several sheep reside. Coming from someone who’s used to running in northern Virginia, it was SO weird scooting around bleating balls of wool during my run through the countryside. And by weird, I mean awesome.
  • For the record, I performed my British accent for a handful of Brits and was told it was “actually quite good, that is.” YESSSS!
  • Overheard at Saturday’s wedding: “Give me a subject, I’ll freestyle!” I didn’t stick around to hear the resulting rhymes.
  • On Thursday, I learned that scones and clotted cream are usually had with afternoon tea, NOT for breakfast. I wish I’d learned this before we had said treat (for breakfast) in a posh part of London, making ourselves look like idiotic American tourists.

Here are a few previews from Saturday. See what I mean? Absolute dreamland fairy tale. I can’t wait for another chance to shoot in Surrey, because I’m in love with everything about this place!
