You know her. You’ve seen her before on my blog, or maybe you’ve caught her on my Instagram. Sophie was one of my first #abbygraceballerinas, and our first session was the one that really and truly made me feel like I’d found a thing I loved for me and me alone, and not because it was trendy or trending or Pinterest-worthy.
This time, we did things a little bit differently. I brought (well, Matt brought) my new Profoto B2 with a tiny little softbox on our flight to Paris. We shot the first half before the sun went down, then went for un verre de vin while waiting for it to get dark. Then we headed over to the Pont Neuf for what I was equally nervous and excited for- night time cityscape portraits. And the result was exactly what I’d hoped for!
Sophie, thank you for teaching me to fall in love with photography yet again. I’d hit a little bit of a rut when it came to my ballerina work, but having you in front of my lens was exactly what I needed. Thank you for always being classic, lovely, and graceful.
Photographers- never stop shooting for yourself. Weddings keep me in love with people, but ballerinas keep me in love with the art of creating, the art of photography.
